The Truth about Wet batteries and why Fullriver AGM batteries are your best choice

Wet battery manufacturers claim that wet batteries provide more cycle life than sealed batteries. However, the two leading causes of premature battery failure in conventional wet batteries are improper watering (either over- or under-watering) and improper charging (either over- or under-charging). Even one incident of over- or under-watering a conventional wet battery can cause irreversible damage resulting in premature battery failure. Why take the chance with your investment. With Fullriver AGM batteries you have eliminated one of the most common modes of battery failure since there is no water required.

Wet batteries release acid mist on the top of the battery and the environment. This acid residue not only corrodes the battery terminals which can cause loose terminal connections and ultimately terminal melting, but can also corrode the battery compartment, vehicle chassis and even the floor. This costly damage can be completely avoided with Fullriver AGM batteries, as they do not release any acid mist during proper operation.

The Truth about Gel batteries and why Fullriver AGM batteries are your best choice

The leading cause of premature battery failure in Gel batteries is excessive over-charging. Many chargers aren’t sophisticated enough to control over-charge and many customers use the same charger on their new sealed battery that they used on their old wet battery. Gel batteries are extremely sensitive to over-charge and the gel will quickly dry out resulting in reduced capacity and life. Since Fullriver AGM batteries’ charging parameters are more aggressive than gel charging parameters, many wet battery chargers will do the job. Gel batteries are much more acid starved and have significantly higher internal resistance than Fullriver AGM batteries. This reduces high rate starting capacity as well as deep cycling capacity. Fullriver AGM batteries deliver high capacity from the moment they are installed and throughout their life.

Gel battery manufacturers claim that gel batteries do not leak or spray acid mist. However gelled electrolyte can liquefy so it is not uncommon to see acid leakage or mist on the top of a gel battery. In fact, this was one of the drivers for the development of AGM technology - to have a truly spill-proof battery. This means with gel batteries you can have the same issues previously described with wet batteries related to corrosion and damage.
